Since 2003 — a safe home for those with no support
El Sondos first brought light to the lives of orphaned children with special needs in 2003, under the supervision of Dr. Amal Abdel-Rahman (Chair of the Board of Trustees), by founding Dar El Sondos. After the remarkable success of the first branch — the main headquarters — in delivering specialised services, a second branch (Dar El Firdaws) was opened in Nasr City, then a third in Heliopolis. The foundation then built its largest facility in the Fifth Settlement to accommodate a greater number of children, and — given the urgent need for a specialised educational institution — it established the first school dedicated to teaching children with special needs.
